About The Position

Operate machines to complete one or more processes in manufacturing exhaust pipe assemblies and components. Work as an active member of a cellular operating group, supporting and performing tasks throughout the cell. The role includes learning, setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on machines, rotating among workstations, handling materials and tools, assembling and inspecting products of varying shapes, sizes, and weights, and meeting applicable safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and performance standards. Requirements

• Ability to read and understand work orders, machine manuals, directions, charts, and safety regulations.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate machines and perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to learn and perform all jobs in the assigned cell group and rotate to each workstation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a cellular operating group and learn, perform preventative maintenance, set up, and operate machines.
• Rotate to all workstations within the assigned cell as needed.
• Handle materials and tools; operate machines; and assemble and inspect products of varying shapes, sizes, and weights.
• Meet acceptable quality, quantity, performance, and safety standards.
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on each machine, ensure machines are in safe working condition, and complete daily safety check-off lists.
• Maintain station control of operations, including making machine parts to specification and inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify production and quality problems and assist the Team Leader with problem correction.
• Perform work in accordance with plant policies, handbooks, applicable work instructions, and safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and performance standards.
• Work overtime as required or requested.
