Opioid Curriculum Development and Training Coordinator (PHA2)
About The Position
The Opioid Curriculum Development and Training Coordinator provides leadership and direction for all harm reduction education efforts within the Behavioral Health & Wellness Division. This position develops and implements community training programs that build local capacity, promote recovery-oriented systems, and reduce opioid-related harm. The coordinator designs curriculum and outreach strategies for diverse audiences and ensures alignment with the division's mission of strengthening behavioral health across the community. Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited 4 four-year college or university and three (3) years of responsible, full-time employment in public health administration, public health sanitation, public health nursing, public health education, business administration, or other appropriate field
- OR
- Master's degree required in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or related field.
- Master's degree required in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or related field.
- 3+ years in curriculum development, training, or public health education, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult learning, program evaluation, and community engagement.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and team leadership skills.
- Experience leading teams in behavioral health, public health, or community resilience.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and harm reduction models.
- Knowledge of data and best practices in mitigating, preventing, and or reducing Opioid use and or misuse
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate community-based training programs focused on resilience, prevention, and harm reduction.
- Develop standardized curriculum templates, toolkits, and adaptable materials for different community audiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to assess community needs, track outcomes, and align programming with division and grant goals.
- Oversee data collection and reporting to demonstrate program impact.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and staff assignments to ensure high-quality, evidence-based education delivery.
- Represent the division at community events, coalitions, and strategic meetings.
- Support division leadership in identifying emerging trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in community resilience and opioid harm reduction.
