About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves performing preliminary screening examinations and tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider. The technician will possess and perform skills in ophthalmic testing as part of medical/surgical evaluation by a physician and support clinic-based, injection, and minor surgical ophthalmic procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited ophthalmic technician program or equivalent experience.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
• Extensive knowledge in ophthalmic pharmacology, refractometry, and general patient care.
• Ability to perform advanced ophthalmic testing and procedures at a skilled level in accordance with COT certification.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Must maintain necessary JCAHPO requirements for Certified Ophthalmic Technician re-certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary screening examinations and tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider.
• Possess and perform skills in ophthalmic testing as part of medical/surgical evaluation by physician.
• Support of clinic based, injection and minor surgical ophthalmic procedures.
