Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
  • Ability to perform indirect patient care activities, administrative responsibilities, and other assigned duties that contribute to the successful operation of the practice
  • Willingness to travel between practice locations

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Patient Care: Gather comprehensive patient histories and clinical information, Prepare patients for examination and treatment, Help ensure accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans
  • Perform Comprehensive Ophthalmic Testing: Conduct preliminary examinations, including: Visual acuity testing, Pupillary assessments, Intraocular pressure screening, Other ophthalmic evaluations as needed
  • Utilize Advanced Diagnostic Technology: Perform specialized testing and imaging, including: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Visual Field Testing (Perimetry), Ophthalmic Photography, Additional diagnostic procedures
  • Support Clinical Procedures: Assist physicians during: Minor surgical procedures, Laser treatments, Corneal cross-linking procedures
  • Enhance Patient Flow & Practice Efficiency: Coordinate patient movement throughout clinic and imaging areas, Partner closely with physicians and clinical staff to maintain efficient operations, Perform clinical and administrative duties that support quality patient care
  • Medication Administration: Administer ophthalmic drops as required (Certification Required)
