This is a Per Diem Ophthalmic Technician position. The role involves greeting patients, obtaining and transcribing patient history and physician dictations into the EHR, maintaining patient confidentiality, and escorting patients to appropriate areas. The technician will assist physicians by obtaining supplies and performing various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, autorefraction, lensometry, tonometry, visual field testing, glare testing, color vision testing, and Schirmer's tear testing. The role also includes reviewing patient charts, posting test results, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring patient safety. The technician must be able to work with patients of all ages, including geriatric patients, and demonstrate compliance with all safety rules and policies. Regular travel to satellite locations may be required.
