About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations within a fast-paced eye care setting. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting ophthalmologists with preliminary examinations, diagnostic testing, and procedural support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, excellent patient interaction skills, and the ability to manage workflow efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or equivalent certification required
  • Strong proficiency in English (spoken, written, and comprehension)
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary vision and diagnostic testing, including visual fields, ocular motility, color vision, and intraocular pressure
  • Conduct pupil assessments, including size, equality, and reaction prior to dilation
  • Collect and document accurate patient medical and personal histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during clinical procedures
  • Coordinate patient flow and support scheduling of additional tests, imaging, or follow-up procedures
  • Educate patients on procedures and address questions or concerns
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, keratometers, and tonometers
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas
  • Sterilize instruments and assist with minor procedures, laser treatments, and surgical support
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
