About The Position

Provides advanced level preparation of the patient for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, treatment, or education-ensuring quality patient services.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed certification as an Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint commission of Allied Health Personnel of Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) after the required work hours and credits earned at the COA level.
  • After completion of an accredited Technician program, incumbent has 1 year from date of employment to successfully complete certification.
  • Ongoing certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Detail oriented individual with strong human relations and organizational skills.
