About The Position

Ophthalmic Technician – Full-Time or Part-Time. Candidates MUST being willing & able to travel and work in all our offices: Fort Myers, Naples, and Punta Gorda. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking either a full-time or part-time position. If you enjoy working with different providers, meeting new patients, and being part of a fast-paced and supportive clinical team, we would love to meet you! As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will help create a smooth and positive experience for our patients from the moment their clinical visit begins. You will obtain accurate patient histories, perform comprehensive workups and diagnostic testing, document findings in the patient’s medical record, and prepare patients for their visit with the provider.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician (required)
  • Experience with ophthalmic testing equipment and comprehensive workups (required)
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to work at our Fort Myers, Naples, and Punta Gorda offices (required)
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • A compassionate, patient-focused approach
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed

Nice To Haves

  • COA or COT certification is a plus
  • Experience using an electronic medical record system; Modernizing Medicine or EMA experience is a plus
  • Scribing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and explaining the purpose of testing and procedures
  • Obtaining and documenting chief complaints, medical and ocular histories, medications, and allergies
  • Performing accurate and efficient patient workups
  • Measuring visual acuity, pupils, motility, confrontation fields, color vision, and stereopsis
  • Performing tonometry, refraction, pachymetry, corneal topography, and other physician-directed testing
  • Documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Supporting providers and fellow team members throughout the clinic
  • Traveling between Collins Vision locations as operational needs require
  • Helping us deliver compassionate, efficient, and exceptional patient care
