Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Fluency of the English language.
- Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression.
- Speech clarity and recognition.
- Active learning and listening.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and provide information to patients and colleagues.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use mathematical methods or formulas for related medical and scientific measurements and calculations.
- Ability to calculate percentages.
- Ability to compile, tabulate, or verify information or data.
- Ability to collect data and establish facts.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Ability to use logic.
- Ability to identify information by categorizing and recognizing differences or similarities.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Email, Calendar and Scheduling Software, Medical Software, Internet, Data Entry
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- At least one year of experience as an ophthalmic, optometric, or medical technician preferred.
- COA, COT or COMT certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tests to measure intraocular pressure.
- Measure visual acuity.
- Take patient medical histories.
- Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
- Conduct visual field tests.
- Operate, clean and maintain ophthalmic/surgical instruments, equipment and facilities.
- Take measurements of the eye.
- Measure lens power.
- Assist physicians in performing surgical procedures.
- Conduct ocular motility tests.
- Communicate telephonically with patients regarding scheduling or to inquire about post-operative status or recovery.
- Assist with Laser Vision Coordinator overflow.
- Execute core processes.
- Manage inventory process and order supplies.
