About The Position
Spectrum Vision Partners (SVP) is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe 2 with advanced coding knowledge to support providers and enhance the patient experience. In this role, you will document real-time patient encounters, support clinical flow, and perform ophthalmic testing. You are cross-trained across specialties and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of medical/ophthalmic scribing experience
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding
- Strong EMR documentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay calm and organized in a busy clinic
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Cross-training across ophthalmology specialties
- Knowledge of ocular pharmacology (anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and EMR charts per physician preferences
- Accurately document patient-provider interactions in real time
- Enter diagnoses, prescriptions, testing, and medication orders
- Perform ophthalmic testing and procedures, including: Visual acuity & auto-refraction, Tonometry, Pupils & dilation, OCT, VF, HRT, B-scan, Pachymetry, corneal topography, keratometry, Administer eye drops/ointments
- Audit charts for accuracy and compliance
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care
- Provide exceptional, white-glove patient service
