About The Position

Join UF Health as an Ophthalmic Photographer and be part of a nationally recognized academic health system. In this role, you will use advanced imaging technology to capture diagnostic eye images that support patient care and treatment. Working alongside ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals, you will help deliver exceptional care while advancing the mission of UF Health in a collaborative and patient-focused environment. The Ophthalmic Photographer assists the physician by performing photographic assignments to help document and treat diseases of the eye, maximizing patient care in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

Knowledge of photography techniques with two years experience with ophthalmology photography.
Ability to maintain and repair photographic ophthalmic instruments.
Basic computers required.
Person should display initiative, has the ability to be multitasking and be able to take on responsibilities.
Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.

Responsibilities

Performs photographic assignments on Eye Clinic patients with various eye disorders as requested by the physician. Clinic flow and room utilization are efficient.
Achieves: Demonstrates ability to perform various photographic assignments including but not limited to retinal photographic, fluorescein angiograms of the retina. Anterior segment photographics motion picture of eye movements. Demonstrates ability to perform darkroom procedures. Aware of clinic schedule, patients¿ arrivals and departures to photography department. Identifies delays/roadblocks and intercedes as needed or communicates problem to appropriate manager/provider. Facilitates room turnover and preparation between patients.
Exceeds: Independently coordinates with team members to facilitate clinic flow. Is recognized as resource person. Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency in flow and patient visit preparation.
Patients are appropriately prepared for photography procedures. Clinical photography charts are appropriately prepared for visit.
Achieves: Clinical photography charts are available for visit. Demonstrates ability to retrieve information form patient data systems for classifying and cataloging photographic records.
Exceeds: Recognizes patient and family needs and communicates to supervisor or provider. Identifies opportunities to improve availability of records and relates suggestion to management.
Patient care is provided accordance with UFP and clinic specific policies and procedures.
Achieves: Adheres to principles of sterile technique and performs specialized procedures in accordance with protocols. Assures patient privacy and comfort during procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate requisitions for studies and consults and appropriate process to assure scheduling and completion of studies.
Exceeds: Identifies and participates in implementation of alternative ways to assist in clinic to improve efficiency. Is recognized as a resource person by peers.
Clinic environment is maintained in accordance with UFP policies and procedures and safety standards. Appropriate supplies are available and equipment is in functional condition.
Achieves: Rooms are cleaned and stocked routinely. Room turnover between patients is timely. Supplies are ordered and restocked in a timely manner with attention to cost control. Equipment is functional and properly maintained.
Exceeds: Recognized as a resource person for equipment function and troubleshooting.
All patient care is appropriate for the patient's age and developmental level.
Achieves: Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care. Recognizes age appropriate behavior.
Contributes to the efficient operation of the clinic by performing other related duties as may be required.
