The Ophthalmic Clinical Coordinator is an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician who provides advanced direct and indirect patient care while serving as a clinical leader for ophthalmic support staff. This role is responsible for daily clinical oversight, staff training, onboarding, competency validation, and workflow coordination to ensure high-quality patient care, provider efficiency, and adherence to clinical standards. The Ophthalmic Clinical Coordinator works collaboratively with Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, and the Practice Manager to support clinical operations, reinforce standard operating procedures, and promote continuous improvement. The role functions as a clinical resource, mentor, and escalation point for ophthalmic support staff while maintaining active participation in patient care and procedural support.
