Requirements

• High school diploma is required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experienced in using EMR systems to manage patient information efficiently.
• Exceptional ability to interact with patients and team members clearly and effectively.
• Consistently dependable and arrives on time to support smooth clinic operations.
• Excellent at juggling multiple tasks with great attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Thoughtful and diligent in identifying, prioritizing, and escalating issues as needed.
• Demonstrates excellent typing skills, with a minimum speed of 45 words per minute and high accuracy.
• Proficient in listening and comprehending tasks and instructions, with a strong willingness to learn on the job.
• Familiar with diagnostic codes, aiding in accurate patient record management.
• Shows genuine concern and empathy for patients’ needs and experiences.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with the team to maintain optimal clinic workflow.
• Works cooperatively and supportively with all team members to ensure a cohesive work environment.
• Possesses a basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and optical principles, including refraction and contact lenses, and is familiar with the use of optical equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Some college or a degree is preferred.
• Certification as a COA or COT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and dilation.
• Perform a range of tests such as confrontation visual fields, cover testing, and versions, and assist in manifest refractions.
• Greet patients warmly, explain testing procedures, answer questions, and provide necessary education.
• Work closely with our clinical support team and providers to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
• Maintain a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing common safety hazards.
• Utilize our EMR system to accurately record patient data and ensure it’s ready for provider review.
