About The Position

The Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS through American Heart Assoc
  • 1+ year previous Medical Assistant or Optometric Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/ Optometric Assistant program.
  • 6+ months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Optometric Assistant program.
  • Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population.
  • CRT experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified as an OA
  • 1+ year in optometric setting
  • Windows bases computer skills
  • Able to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform Kreadings
