Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment by the physician. Assist the physician with procedures and care of the patient. Collects subjective and objective ophthalmic data from the patient or caregiver and communicates this data to the provider. Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).
