About The Position

Supports the patient care functions of the Eye Clinic, performing tests and assisting procedures under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, or RN Clinic Leader. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within one year of hire, required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Tests visual acuity, stereo vision, and color vision.
• Conducts visual field testing using both the Goldman Perimeter and Humphrey Visual Fields Analyzer.
• Evaluates ocular anatomy, ocular motility and papillary responses.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as needed.
• Performs autorefraction and ophthalmic photography for both external and fundus photos.
• Accurately records information in electronic medical record according to established standards and physician’s requirements.
• Maintains and cleans ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
• Provides instruction to patients and caregivers as directed by the physician.
• Able to multi-task in a busy clinic/environment.
