About The Position
As an ophthalmic assistant at Carolina Eyecare, you will receive hands-on training that prepares you for a fulfilling career in ophthalmology. Requirements
- Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Willing to train the right person
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience within the medical field
- Experience in optometry or ophthalmology a plus
Responsibilities
- Works with the ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide patient care by performing many different eye-related clinical functions.
- Helps care for patients by taking histories, performing various procedures and tests, and preparing patients to see the doctor.
- Provides ophthalmologists and optometrists with important information to help diagnose and treat patients.
- Assists and provides patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment.
- Conducts tonometry tests to measure intraocular pressure.
- Measures visual acuity.
- Takes and documents patients' medical histories.
- Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
- Conducts visual field tests to measure field of vision.
- Instructs patients in the care and use of contact lenses.
