About The Position

Park Nicollet welcomes applications for an Ophthalmic Assistant III to join our Eye Care team supporting special testing, peds, and specialty ophthalmology. Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. The Ophthalmic Assistant prepares patients for ophthalmic tests, evaluation, and treatment, ensuring quality patient services. This role will support Goldmann visual fields, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology.

Requirements

• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles.
• Knowledge of general ophthalmology equipment (including phoropters, keratometers, slit lamps, tonometers, corneal and retinal imaging, retinoscopes, lensometers, and visual fields).
• General computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, image viewing software, and Epic).
• Certification through JCAHPO as an Ophthalmic Assistant within two years of hire date (must be certified at the COA level).

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited home study course in Ophthalmic Assisting OR Satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Satisfactory completion of a Medical Office Assistant program OR Equivalent related experience.
