About The Position

In this impactful role as an Operational Excellence Engineer II, you will drive process improvement initiatives that enhance performance, quality, and efficiency across manufacturing and business operations. Partnering closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Packaging, and other cross‑functional teams, you will support the analysis and optimization of end‑to‑end processes aligned with operational excellence and continuous improvement objectives. As a hands‑on practitioner of Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving methodologies, you will lead and support improvement projects, facilitate cross‑functional working sessions, and help teams reduce waste, minimize variability, and strengthen process capability. You will apply tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, and PDCA to support process mapping, validation activities, and the implementation of scalable, efficient, and compliant processes - while contributing to a culture of data‑driven, continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence, or Process Improvement roles
  • Experience with GDP/GMP and validation activities
  • Strong process mapping and control plan development capabilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings
  • Experience creating FMEAs and applying statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab)
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Experience with Agile MAP and SAP
  • Background in supplier development and support
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry and working under ISO 13485/FDA regulations
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), or PMP

Responsibilities

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
