About The Position

This role is responsible for completing all assigned duties and tasks before the end of their normal work shift. The operator must sign off on safety commitments and obey GMP’s and PPE’s for production areas. Key responsibilities include maintaining machines, accurate record-keeping, clearing jams, following safety measures, loading materials, communicating code changes, checking codes and glue, notifying mechanics of issues, and cleaning machines at the end of the shift. The role also involves monitoring line processing, completing paperwork, and potentially working an Alternative Work Week Schedule (12 hour).

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to lift 60-75lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
  • Meet required job specific training located in the Training Register.

Responsibilities

  • Keep machines clean and in good running condition.
  • Keep accurate records of carton/film usage, downtime and jam ups.
  • Clear up jams in a timely manner.
  • Follow proper safety measures.
  • Keep cartons/film loaded correctly during production.
  • Make sure packers receive a pouch of the new code.
  • Verbally communicate new code to packers.
  • Let inspectors know when they can load a new code on the line.
  • Change codes on printer.
  • Check cartons/pouches immediately after code changes.
  • Compare pouch code to carton code and check for proper glue.
  • Notify mechanic of all machine problems.
  • Unload cartons/film and clean machine at end of shift.
  • Routinely check glue pots, ink bottles, or ink pads.
  • Monitor line processing and complete required paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
