About The Position

The Operator operates various pieces of equipment and performs work associated with electrical distribution systems as directed by the Foreman. The role supports crew members and job preparation, equipment maintenance, worksite organization, and traffic and work-zone safety. Requirements

At least 6 months of experience in a related field.
Available to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Ability to perform physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate well with others.
Ability to assist with equipment maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety practices, rules, and regulations, follow company procedures, and report unsafe conditions or practices.
Safely drive and operate company vehicles and equipment, including digger derricks, backhoes, boom and pole trucks, forklifts, and power tools.
Facilitate the alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
Verify proper grounding of the truck.
Assist with equipment maintenance and washing to keep equipment in proper working order.
Clean protective equipment, including hot sticks and rubber goods, and keep personal protective equipment in good condition.
Stay near the work area to anticipate crew needs, prepare tools, and operate equipment for crew members.
Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools.
Assist with job preparation, frame poles on the ground, dig pole holes, set poles, or pull wire.
Keep work areas clean and organized; pick up scrap wire and discarded materials.
Safely control traffic near or around work zones and keep unauthorized people away from the work area.
Perform shoveling work.
Work as a team and perform other assigned duties and tasks.
