About The Position

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $26.05 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. The Warehouse Operator - responsible for the inventory management of packaging components of multiple production lines, including physical counts and inventory reconciliation before, after, and during production campaigns.

Requirements

  • High School Education or GED.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and Google Chrome.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics: examples – Determines Loss/Waste factor when staging components.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with internal and external co-workers, customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple simultaneous tasks, with interruptions.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, available to work any shift and overtime.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and promote teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm/identify packaging material availability, location, and condition for production lines prior to production campaigns.
  • Plan/coordinate delivery schedule for materials located in outside storage locations (warehouses and drop trailers) to arrive to meet production line(s) scheduled planning rates.
  • Complete inventory cycle counts at the end of production campaigns and input necessary corrections for inventory location in SAP.
  • Coordinate the inventory and placement of product labels for all products.
  • Prepare electronic component tracking (spreadsheets) for schedule production.
  • Communicate deficiencies that could negatively impact the production schedule to appropriate individuals.
  • Loading and Unloading packaging materials/finished good.
  • Hauling finished products from production lines to warehouse storage location.
  • Supplying pallets of packaging components from warehouse storage location to production line(s) to meet production requirements.
  • Housekeeping (Including, but not limited to, sweeping, emptying dumpsters and/or trash cans, repairing items which may have been subjected to warehouse damage, etc.).
  • Participate in weekly warehouse meetings/safety tailgates, plant wide safety meeting, and quarterly information meetings.
