About The Position

Grand River Foods is a leading food solutions company serving customers in the North American grocery and food service industry. We are known for the great care we take with clients and employees alike. GRF is currently seeking operators for both our day and afternoon shifts. Day shift: start times varying between 5:00am and 6:00am, 9-hour shifts Monday to Friday with some overtime required on weekends. GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, and physical environment. Applicants must be comfortable handling meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.) and must be comfortable with 10-40 pounds of repetitive lifting. We are currently seeking candidates who have experience with machine operation in a food processing facility.

Requirements

• Experience with machine operation in a food processing environment
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Able to communicate effectively with teammates and leadership
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• 18 years of age or older
• Good attendance record required
• A positive attitude and willing to develop new skills
• Comfortable working around meat (handling using gloves, smells, etc).
• Comfortable working in the cold (4°C) and exposure to extreme temperatures (-10° to 30°C)

Nice To Haves

• Previous food industry experience including GMPs and basic food handling are assets

Responsibilities

• Equipment setup, assembly and operation
• Utilization of specific production tools and equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems
• Accurately document production results
• Adherence to strict operating procedures and food safety guidelines
• Strong attention to detail
• Regularly inspect work environment for good housekeeping
• Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and other employees
• Repetitive tasks and standing in one spot for extended periods of time
• Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplied
• Other relevant duties as assigned
