About The Position

This position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada. The role involves operating mining haul trucks safely and efficiently in remote and extreme weather conditions to transport ore, waste rock, and materials in support of production targets. The operator will also perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitor equipment condition, and communicate effectively with team members. Participation in daily safety meetings and adherence to health, safety, and operational procedures are required. The role also supports site operations by working in all weather conditions and assisting with civil earthworks and construction activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., haul trucks, articulated rock trucks, trailers, or similar) in mining or construction environments, including exposure to remote site operations.
• High School, GED or equivalent.
• Valid unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Heavy Equipment Operator certification
• additional safety certifications (e.g., Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR))

Responsibilities

• Operate mining haul trucks safely and efficiently in remote and extreme weather conditions to transport ore, waste rock, and materials in support of production targets.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting equipment deficiencies in accordance with safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment condition during operation, promptly reporting issues and removing unsafe equipment from service as required.
• Communicate effectively with team members using radios, hand signals, and established site communication methods.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to B2Gold Nunavut’s health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Support site operations by working in all weather conditions and assisting with civil earthworks and construction activities as assigned.
