About The Position

The Pulp Mill Utility Support Operator is an entry-level role supporting pulp mill operations and production. The position involves hands-on work with equipment and materials, assisting operators and technicians, and contributing to mill performance, safety, and environmental compliance. The role requires physical work in an industrial setting and work on 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established protocols.
Team-oriented mindset and good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mill environment is a plus.
Certification to operate forklifts, skid steers, or other material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Work collaboratively with team members and communicate with supervisors.
Assist operators and technicians with machine setup, monitoring, and maintenance.
Load, unload, and transport raw materials, chemicals, and finished products as needed.
Follow environmental compliance guidelines and waste disposal procedures.
Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment if certified.
Monitor and inspect production areas for hazards, spills, and maintenance needs.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues under supervision.
Follow safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
Support shutdowns, equipment changeovers, and maintenance activities.
