About The Position

This role involves operating specialized pile driving equipment, requiring a strong understanding of safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and precise operation based on various forms of instruction. The journey-level operator is expected to perform daily checks, minor maintenance, and operate equipment safely and efficiently to achieve project goals.

Requirements

Previous experience driving concrete, sheet and/or pipe piles.
Must be punctual and maintain a dependable level of attendance in accordance to project work rules.
Maintain current certifications.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of controlling pile hoisting speed during hammer operation.

Responsibilities

Receive and follow written or oral instructions from supervisor regarding material movement or excavation.
Demonstrate safe operation of all equipment.
Read and understand the results and purpose of all gauges on equipment.
Properly maintain and service equipment daily, or ensure it is serviced.
Observe ground markings and hand signals to remove material when operating machinery.
Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
Read and understand the owner's manual and complete machine inspection reports.
Maintain punctuality and a dependable level of attendance according to project work rules.
Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movements based on verbal, hand signal, and written instructions.
Inspect crane and piling equipment daily to identify any defective or malfunctioning parts.
Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
Lift and place machinery, equipment, and other objects at the construction site.
Work within established limits and standards of accuracy.
Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as other equipment, personnel, and utilities.
Operate crane according to signals received from a qualified signal person.
Safely operate crane during the assembly of crane and piling equipment.
Maintain current certifications.
Gain knowledge of controlling pile hoisting speed during hammer operation.
