SUMMARY: You will be a key player on our manufacturing team mainly involved in production of powdered nutritional supplement ingredients. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of the manufacturing process: weighing and measuring raw materials, blending and mixing, discharging product for drying, grinding, and packaging. Ideal candidate would be skilled in all areas of production and machinery: blenders, grinders, hot water, furnaces, racks, air collection, etc.

Requirements

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understanding of basic math functions, varying units of measurement with ability to use scales and understand values.
Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.

Skilled in all areas of production and machinery: blenders, grinders, hot water, furnaces, racks, air collection, etc.

Weighing and measuring raw materials
Blending and mixing
Discharging product for drying
Grinding
Packaging
Understanding of Batch Formulation Sheets (BFS)
Adding water as specified by the water meter on faucet
Verifying temperatures to be sure water is within proper range
Adding ingredients and signing off each ingredient
Properly identifying, weighing and confirming dry ingredients against BFS during production
Ensuring paper for racks are cut to appropriate lengths
Reviewing BFS to determine if paper needs spraying
Ensuring paddles and equipment is clean
Discharging product properly
Correctly identifying lot and product number on each rack
Cleaning blenders completely
Placing product in available rooms for drying
Minimizing oven space used for drying
Verifying info per BFS for grinding
Proficient in use of forklift
Setting up grinder and specified mesh screen properly per product
Preparing containers for shipping
Properly labeling product in each drum
Grinding product
Pulling samples for tracking and analysis
Weighing and recording drums on BFS (verify)
Cleaning grinder properly
Assisting in daily clean up and routine maintenance of equipment according to training
Completing cleaning logs for each operation and each piece of equipment
Keeping plant in compliance with health department regulations AT ALL TIMES
Weighing and verifying product
Identification of raw materials by ingredient name
Assigning lot number
Accurate weighing and verification of each other’s work
