About The Position

The Pressing Operator reports to the Processing Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for all pressing operations and duties such as pulling and dumping the proper berries for chopping, operating all presses as required, operating the filtration system, and bagging off the press cake on the second floor. The Pressroom Operator is responsible for the complete sanitation of all areas of the pressing and filtering operations. Pressroom Operators will be alternating duties to ensure they maintain the skills to perform all the pressing operation duties.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Work in a safe manner following all PPE requirements
  • Successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift Certification
  • Certified in the proper and safe handling of chemicals
  • Possess a good understanding of the berry pressing schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented and can multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Scan ingredients and finished product
  • Properly pull berries according to the berry dump list for chopping
  • Run all areas of the pressroom
  • Understand and properly operate all pressing controls
  • Make all piping changes and hook-ups for the silo room
  • Properly perform complete sanitation of the entire pressing area
  • Operate the pressroom computer system
  • Package Press cake
  • CIP Silo(s)
  • Update silo screen for Batchers to pull oldest to newest product in order
  • Sample SS Cran for QA Testing
  • Perform analytics on product pressed
  • Properly handle and break down empty bins and move them to the proper locations
  • Maintain awareness of all safety procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Adhere to GMPs and housekeeping standards
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to and promote a culture of food safety and quality by understanding your roles and responsibilities in all food safety and quality related tasks
  • This role will be required to taste test products as needed, up to a couple of ounces per test.
  • Perform all tasks with a Safety/Food Safety first mindset
