About The Position

The primary responsibilities of this position are to prepare, process and distribute raw materials/powders for the purposes of producing ceramic semi-finished products. The Operator also ensures the area production schedule is executed to time, quality, and productivity requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience working with chemicals or powders in weigh-up, mixing or batching preferred
  • Experience working in a clean room/controlled environment a plus
  • Computer Literate and Knowledgeable about tools and tooling
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without strain and needs to have a Quality First attitude and a strong team spirit to help keep equipment running within process specifications.
  • Must stand for several hours at a time while performing their main job functions.

  • Experience working in a clean room/controlled environment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for set-up and operating equipment/tools to create / modify raw materials to produce powders used in current products.
  • Set up machinery such as kilns, Rotovaps equipment, drum rollers and oversee its functioning.
  • Follow documented instructions, as well as calibrate equipment to follow product specifications.
  • Follow strict company and industry safety regulations, as well as a tightly controlled sequence of functions and equipment programming functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other operators and supervisors, as well as attend regular training sessions for updates on equipment use.
  • Conduct day to day activities and provide training to team members on relevant industry processes and equipment operations safety.
  • Must be self-sufficient and work well with minimal supervision and must be able to detect and correct program errors in a timely fashion.
  • Properly and safely load and unload raw materials into machinery, as well as change out tools as required.
  • Must have experience calibrating calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to use other small tools.
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on area machinery.
  • Follow directions, SOP’s, and documented protocols.
  • Must be able to report progress to the production supervisor in their department.
