About The Position

Monitors, maintains, and controls the safe, healthy and environmentally sound operations of the gas /oil pipelines. This role involves reviewing and monitoring prior shift activities, checking daily computer logs, and managing the process board. The operator will measure and regulate product flow, conduct studies and inspections, and ensure equipment is operational through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Reporting on pipeline activities, inspecting equipment for safety and maintenance needs, and maintaining technical knowledge are key aspects. The position also requires monitoring logs, interpreting SCADA system data, performing various tests and inspections, and conducting pipeline locates and pigging operations. Commitment to company core values, supporting the company's mission and vision, and being available 24 hours a day for on-call duties are also essential.

Requirements

  • One (1) year minimum pipeline experience with a combination of Gas and Liquid pipeline operations.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to perform work assignments with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to accurately perform tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with different groups that transport product.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (Heat and/or Cold).
  • Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of the plant process.
  • Ability to work alone and highly motivated.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process areas.
  • Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
  • Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Operator Qualifications (OQ) as required by Company

  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs on small, medium, and large tanks, control buildings, and other unspecified locations.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and monitors prior shift, to check for accuracy, daily computer log and scan process board.
  • Monitors and maintains operations by measuring and regulating flow of product.
  • Monitors and maintains pipeline by conducting studies and inspections.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Prepares pipeline reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, wear and tear, and makes or recommends appropriate repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by practicing pipeline standards, adhering to legal regulations, and conducting inspections.
  • Monitors and maintains logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments made.
  • Capable of observing and interpreting information displayed within Company’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System
  • Perform shake outs or grind outs using Company furnished testing equipment.
  • Conduct pipeline locates using Company furnished equipment.
  • Observe foreign line crossings.
  • Capable of performing pipeline pigging operations.
  • Inspects piping and equipment for safety problems, leaks, wear and tear, and makes or recommends appropriate repairs and maintenance.
