Union - Operator, Mill Feed
About The Position
CHS Inc. is looking for a driven individual to join our Feed Mill team in Hermiston, OR as a Union Operations Specialist. You will perform diver mill operations such as feed making, recieving, mixing and pelleting our feed products & any additional general operator tasks needed. This position offers 1st Shift hours 5:00am-1:30pm Monday - Friday, onsite training, competitive pay & benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of the largest cooperative in the U.S. Our feed mill is a key component in the formulation of the highest quality ingredients and all the essentials to improve health, performance and production. Requirements
- 1+ years in Production and/or Operations
- Experience in mill operations, manufacturing, or similar
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
- Ability to lift and load up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable in damp, dusty, dry conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to perform physically driven tasks
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Operate the all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to CHS’ quality assurance program regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
- Perform necessary sequencing, recording, and documenting of all feed manufactured during shift.
- Maintain accurate production and FDA records, entering data into Excel spreadsheet.
- Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality.
- Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products.
- Determine proper routing and distribution for manufactured feeds to appropriate holding bins.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
- Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers when needed.
- Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures, adhere to all safety & FDA requirements.
- Effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned.
