About The Position

This is a hands-on operations role focused on keeping plant production running safely and efficiently. The role supports plant and shop-floor operations by performing mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment setup, and quality checks. The goal is to ensure safe and reliable products are delivered to the business in a cost-effective and efficient manner, without harm to people or the environment. The role involves working across production equipment, assisting with material handling, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Good mechanical aptitude and developing skills in hand tools and precision measurement
  • Able to read and interpret maintenance documents, drawings, and parts lists
  • Able to follow formal procedures and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with instrumentation or equipment controls
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Demonstrate strong attention to safety, quality, and operational discipline

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in maintaining plant production by performing repairs within scope of expertise
  • Interpreting and completing work orders while following safe work procedures
  • Performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment
  • Setting up, monitoring, and operating equipment required for manufacturing and production
  • Operating multiple machines simultaneously as needed
  • Performing quality assurance checks per engineering and ISO requirements
  • Operating specialized process equipment and monitoring product specifications
  • Using general hand tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Assisting with transporting, loading, and unloading raw materials and finished products
  • Cleaning production equipment and collecting samples for analysis
  • Operating and adjusting controls to maintain equipment performance
  • Testing and repairing instrumentation systems to ensure product quality
  • Working indoors or outdoors year-round in various weather conditions
  • Following competency management program requirements and coaching other technicians in areas of proven competence
