About The Position

The Operator works in the Logistics department and efficiently moves product between the warehouse and yard and prepare it for bagging, shipping and/or storage. This position also assists in preparing orders, loading trucks, storing inventory and general warehouse duties.

• Ability to read and understand written operating instructions and work order requirements.
• Ability to operate all department equipment safely.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
• Ability to maintain customer focus
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to follow corporate standards and procedures
• High school or Equivalent
• 2+ years of warehouse experience
• 2+ years of forklift experience, certification a plus
• 30 days of on the job training by Lead Operator or experienced Operator
• Safety policy and procedural training
• Ongoing or annual training required by Company
• Must pass pulmonary fit test for proper respiratory protection.

Responsibilities

• Operate fork lift to move product in preparation for bagging, shipping and storage
• Loads/unloads product within safety standards
• Maintain product knowledge
• Conducts quality control checks on bags and inform Lead or Yard Manager of material defects
• Assists in keeping premises and equipment clean
• Ensure safety policies are understood and enforced.
• Other duties as directed
