About The Position

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient potash production through high-quality analytical testing and laboratory operations. Your work will help ensure accurate process data, product quality, and operational performance across one of the world's most significant potash projects. Working closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams, you will contribute to the successful commissioning, ramp-up, and ongoing optimization of the mill while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and laboratory excellence.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemical Technology, Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in mining, mineral processing, industrial, or environmental laboratory environments.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation such as XRF, Flame Photometers, Auto-Titrators, UV-Vis, Moisture Analyzers, or similar laboratory equipment.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), sample preparation techniques, and analytical testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement in an operational environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Knowledge of potash processing, mineral analysis, or industrial laboratory operations.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical, physical, and mineralogical analyses of underground, process, product, and environmental samples.
  • Prepare samples using established laboratory procedures and analytical methods.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
  • Deliver accurate and timely analytical results to support operational decision-making and process performance.
  • Support laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) programs, including proficiency testing and control sample monitoring.
  • Manage sample tracking, chain-of-custody requirements, and laboratory data management activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and process engineering teams to investigate process performance and product quality outcomes.
  • Participate in laboratory method development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support commissioning activities and ongoing optimization of mill and laboratory systems.
