About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly position. The schedule requires working quarterly rotating shifts: 3 months on 1st shift, 3 months on 2nd shift, 3 months on 3rd shift, and then repeating the cycle. The role requires the ability to work any shift, overtime including weekends and holidays, or different shifts with advance notice as needed. New colleagues will undergo on-the-job training to acquire skills and certifications, which will be assessed according to established standards. This includes completing ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training, and participating in company planner operations training. Equipment training may include JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc. The work environment is typically a non-air-conditioned production setting with exposure to hot or cold temperatures, all seasonal elements, both indoors and outdoors. The atmosphere may contain dust (peanut - known allergen), cotton, canola seed, and odors. Employees must be able to work around noise levels that may reach or exceed 85 decibels, requiring hearing protection for most of the work shift. Company-provided protective clothing is required, including uniforms, hardhats, earplugs, safety glasses, hair restraints, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and a safety harness, depending on the task. Employees in roles requiring respirators must be clean-shaven. ADM requires the successful completion of a background check and medical clearance.

Requirements

  • Basic computer knowledge (data entry)
  • General math comprehension
  • Previous plant environment experience helpful
  • Forklift Operation experience
  • Prior plant/manufacturing experience
  • Be active and participate in safety programs
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, work in cold/hot temperatures and a dusty environment and be respirator qualified
  • Ability and willingness to wear respirators
  • Clean shaven (for roles requiring respirators)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, production and/or similar military environment (preferred)
  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks, including but not limited to, loading and unloading semi tankers, operating packaging machinery, process batching and operation, general housekeeping, retrieving samples and level measurements, lifting and hauling items up and down stairs, operate a motorized fork truck and a variety of miscellaneous duties as needed or required.
  • Perform a variety of jobs, tasks or duties as required.
  • Work in any area/department within the complex.
  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy.
  • Learn and follow written rules and procedures.
  • Produce accurate documentation.
  • Willing and able to learn other jobs, fill in for temporary/permanent vacancies.
  • Move about or to a work site by ascending/descending stairs, bending, kneeling and prolonged periods of standing and sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently.
  • Operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights; may require work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds overhead.
  • Walk up to two (2) miles during the course of a workday over uneven ground surfaces, and/or walking over Railroad tracks.
