Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and safe work practices.
  • Associate degree or higher in a scientific, technical, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, chemical processing, food, pharmaceutical, or industrial production environments.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer systems.
  • Ability to review, complete, and maintain accurate production documentation and records.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders, work at elevated heights, and lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and wear required PPE, including respiratory protection.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fermentation and downstream recovery equipment throughout batch manufacturing processes using both field operations and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Prepare processing equipment following established SOPs, including setup, media preparation, cleaning, sanitization, and packaging activities.
  • Collect and document process samples to support laboratory analysis and product quality requirements.
  • Execute manufacturing batches in accordance with approved batch records and accurately document process observations.
  • Review, complete, and maintain production documentation, including process data entry and operational records.
  • Coordinate daily production activities by addressing scheduling priorities, equipment availability, and process-related issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
  • Maintain equipment reliability by initiating maintenance work orders and partnering with maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Site Leadership to support safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
