The Operator I operates and maintains sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in a refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision. This role requires the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment, meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets. The operator will also be responsible for learning and operating various equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment, and material handling equipment. A key aspect of this role is the ability to work effectively in a team environment and a willingness to readily assume additional or new responsibilities. The operator must demonstrate knowledge of all general safety rules and their consequences, as well as all procedures related to the equipment being operated. Responsibilities include safely working on and around the job location, maintaining a neat and clean work area, collecting liquid and solid samples, performing routine sampling tests, and logging and recording process readings.
