About The Position

The Operator I operates and maintains sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in a refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision. This role requires the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment, meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets. The operator will work with various equipment including pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment, and material handling equipment. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork, willingness to take on new responsibilities, maintaining a safe work environment, and keeping the work area clean. The position also involves collecting samples, performing routine testing, and logging process readings.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Demonstrate knowledge of all general safety rules and the consequences of breaking these rules.
Demonstrate knowledge of all procedures related to the equipment being operated.

Responsibilities

Learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
Operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
Work in a team environment and be willing to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Safely work on and around the job location.
Keep the work area neat and clean.
Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.
Log and Record process readings.
