About The Position

The Operator - Bearings position will manufacture quality Bearings products by performing preset, set-up and operation of CNC lathes, assembly, blanking, tumbling, and molding, finish, assemble, package and perform material handling duties. This role involves identifying and addressing safety violations, maintaining a clean work environment using the “6S” system, operating various manufacturing equipment with minimal assistance, and performing visual inspections and gauging to meet product quality requirements. The operator will also be responsible for completing work orders, performing root cause analysis, striving for continuous improvement, and participating in LEAN and World Class improvement projects. Routine maintenance of machinery and promoting company values are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience or demonstrates appropriate skill level to successfully Perform all duties of Operator I job grade Level.

  • Perform and/or oversee necessary program edits in order to maintain quality and to allow production to continue. Communicate program issues with CNC Programmer.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing equipment and processes. Can provide assistance to other operators on troubleshooting issues based on this level of knowledge and experience.
  • Perform routine maintenance of CNC lathes
  • Assist and train Level I and II Operators.
  • Minimum 2 years related CNC experience or demonstrates appropriate skill level to successfully perform all duties of Operator II job grade Level.
  • Five years minimum related CNC experience or demonstrates appropriate skill level to successfully perform all duties of Operator III job grade Level.

Responsibilities

  • Identify safety violations or potential hazards to manager or safety team member
  • Attend safety training
  • Maintain a clean and organized work place using the “6S” system
  • Operate assembly, blanking, tumbling, and molding with minimal assistance.
  • Operate secondary machines and equipment with minimal assistance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot finishing process equipment
  • Assemble and package metal products as required to meet customer needs on time
  • Embrace change in the work environment to maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Adjust schedule to fluctuate work priorities as needed
  • Perform material handling by operating company vehicles and tow motors safely
  • Complete work order and payroll information using the JDEdwards One-World system
  • Perform visual inspection and gauging to meet product quality requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis for effective problem-solving
  • Strive for continuous improvement of the Company’s processes
  • Strive to establish and standardize ‘best practices”
  • Understanding, compliance, and active involvement in establishing ISO standard operating procedures and work instructions
