About The Position

This position is for an Operator at the V, Nunavut location. The role involves the safe and efficient operation of articulating rock trucks in a construction and mining environment to transport materials and meet targets. The operator will also be responsible for equipment maintenance, communication with team members, participating in safety meetings, and operating in various weather conditions. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with other construction duties related to project development.

Requirements

Prior experience operating heavy equipment, haul trucks, articulating rock truck, or related equipment.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience working in a remote setting with limited access to resources considered an asset.

Responsibilities

The safe and efficient operation of articulating rock truck in a construction and mining environment to transport materials and meet targets.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip walk around safety inspections of equipment and report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.
The overall maintenance of equipment to ensure good working condition, and reporting and logging maintenance concerns as required.
Communicate effectively with team members via two-way radios, hand signals, and other required forms of communication.
Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures.
Operate in all types of weather, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
Aid in other construction duties related to project development as assigned by the Supervisor.
