About The Position

ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking an Operator, Fire Vehicle to support government customer programs in Enid, Oklahoma. The Driver/Operator Firefighter will maintain a state-issued driver’s license and is required to train and operate all assigned fire apparatus at Vance AFB and Kegelman Airfield, including pumpers, specialized trucks, and ARFF vehicles. Duties include responding to emergencies, safely driving and positioning vehicles, operating pumps and firefighting systems, producing master streams, completing resupply operations, supporting sprinkler systems, and guiding crews in firefighting and rescue operations when Lead Firefighter is tasked during emergency response. The position requires inspecting and maintaining documentation, apparatus, conducting inventory checks, performing preventive maintenance and fire pump service tests, and maintaining all fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT response skills. The incumbent assists in training personnel, may serve as Lead Firefighter when qualified, participates in structural and aircraft firefighting, standby operations, and specialized rescue tasks, and ensures compliance with health and safety requirements. In the absence of the assigned ECC Operator, the position may be required to fill in to maintain PWS compliance. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must meet required physical fitness certification standards per NFPA 1582.
  • Must possess Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator Mobile Water Supply (MWS), Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations with Mission Specific Competency (MSC), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Product Control (PC), National Agency Check, and any additional certifications required by the PWS upon hire.
  • Must be able to obtain Airport Rescue Firefighter (ARFF), Driver Operator Aircraft Rescue Firefighting, and National Registry Emergency Medical Responder or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician within 12 months of hire.
  • All certifications must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and/or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Train and operate all assigned fire apparatus, including pumpers, specialized trucks, and ARFF vehicles.
  • Respond to emergencies, safely drive and position vehicles.
  • Operate pumps and firefighting systems, produce master streams.
  • Complete resupply operations and support sprinkler systems.
  • Guide crews in firefighting and rescue operations when Lead Firefighter is tasked.
  • Inspect and maintain documentation and apparatus.
  • Conduct inventory checks and perform preventive maintenance and fire pump service tests.
  • Maintain all fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and HAZMAT response skills.
  • Assist in training personnel.

  • Participate in structural and aircraft firefighting, standby operations, and specialized rescue tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Fill in as ECC Operator in the absence of the assigned operator to maintain PWS compliance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
