This position involves operating various types of power construction equipment such as track loaders, dozers, backhoes, excavators, scrapers, graders, side booms, boring machines, and RT Extended boom forklifts to excavate, move, and grade materials. Key responsibilities include operating gasoline, diesel, pneumatic, or electric powered equipment according to project specifications, assembling and operating compressors and pumps, and manipulating controls to lift, swing, or dump materials. The role also requires performing light maintenance, documenting logs, conducting daily inspections, and coordinating machine actions with crew members. Operators will load and move materials, check fuel supplies, and maneuver equipment to prepare terrain. They must calculate slopes and grades, understand trenching and excavating regulations, and take precautions to avoid hazards like utility lines. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to Red Tag procedures, possession of an OCI Equipment Qualification card, following load capacity charts, and participating in all safety programs and discussions. Effective communication, basic arithmetic skills, and active listening are also essential.
