This role involves operating one or several types of power construction equipment, such as track loaders, dozers, backhoes, excavators, scrapers, graders, side booms, boring machines, and RT Extended boom forklifts, to excavate, move, and/or grade material according to project specifications. The position requires performing light maintenance duties, documenting maintenance logs, and conducting daily equipment inspections. It also involves coordinating machine actions with crew members, loading and moving materials, checking fuel supplies, and calculating slopes and grades. A strong understanding of trenching and excavating requirements and regulations is necessary, along with the ability to identify and avoid potential hazards like utility lines. Adherence to OCI Equipment Qualification card requirements, load capacity charts, and safety procedures is mandatory. The role emphasizes participation in safety processes, hazard identification, and reporting accidents or near misses. Effective communication and basic math skills are also required.
