About The Position

Kokosing is seeking an Operator Coordinator to evaluate, schedule, and develop heavy equipment operators to ensure continued safety, productivity, and quality in the field. This role supports the recruitment and hiring of equipment operators by conducting pre-employment assessments and administering the Operator Expectations Quiz. The Coordinator will also place operators, evaluate their technical skills, provide training, and maintain good working relationships with operators, management, and external partners like Local Unions and trade schools. Additionally, the role involves inspecting equipment for proper maintenance and safety, ensuring operators understand equipment processes, and monitoring equipment usage.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma
At least five years’ experience as an operator in construction industry
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Basic computer skills
Skilled in dirt moving equipment and techniques
Knowledgeable in both MSHA and OSHA regulations and guidelines
Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Responsibilities

Support the recruitment and hiring of equipment operators for the Kokosing Group of Companies by providing interview translation services, conducting pre-employment operator skills assessments, and administering the Operator Expectations Quiz.
Coordinate the placement of operators through personal interaction and knowledge of each one’s skills, to ensure the best fit to benefit both the company and the operator.
Evaluate operator candidates on their technical skills.
Make recommendations regarding the placement of operators to ensure best fit to benefit the company and the operator.
Provide training to new operators to develop and improve their equipment operation skills and add value to their trade.
Work with experienced operators to keep their equipment operating skills and training up-to-date and maintain their awareness of new techniques and methods.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management to facilitate effective communication and coordination within the field operations.
Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
Ensure the operator understands proper equipment processes and bring any deficiencies or concerns to the attention of the proper supervisor.
Monitor equipment used to ensure it is operated within its rated capacities.
Maintain a good working relationship with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to find and hire the most qualified operator candidates for Kokosing.
