The Operator 2 position is responsible for the proper preparation, cleaning, loading, inspection, and running of parts in 1-4 production machines with moderate supervision. This role involves working from written instructions, work orders, standard programs, and instructions given by the supervisor or lead. The Operator 2 maintains the flow of production parts, unloads and inspects parts for defects, and performs basic computer operations for recording metrics. They monitor and document machine operations, perform minor maintenance, and report major repairs needed. The position requires maintaining safety and Quality Assurance standards, assisting with the 5S program, and keeping the work area clean and organized. Operators are expected to read handheld measuring instruments, support less experienced operators, and transport parts without damage. Cross-training in CMM and other advanced measurement tools is also part of the role. Compliance with applicable requirements of Kyocera International, Inc. policy, including ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO18001, ITAR, and site-specific regulations, is mandatory. The role involves producing precision parts within time constraints and supporting machinists as needed, with the ability to use G/M codes at the controller for adjustments.
