About The Position

Mars Petcare is growing their manufacturing production teams! The Mars Petcare Operator - 2 (2nd Shift) is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products. This role will operate and changeover specified machinery, ensure efficiency and safety, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. This position begins with an initial training and onboarding phase. Candidates will be hired into the MPCO- 1 position for the first 60 to 120 days of employment. Following this period, to support our evolving operational needs and your career development, your role may transition. This transition may involve a change in your job title, updated core responsibilities, and/or an adjustment to your shift schedule. We are committed to keeping communication transparent throughout this transition.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Proficient in computer software’s including MS Office and email
  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification(s)
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Operating or troubleshooting high speed equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement / Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains production lines operations though preparing, operating and troubleshooting equipment for through setup, adjustments and changeovers.
  • Solves production process problems and reports production and quality data
  • Follows policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods)
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Safely transport materials and finished goods between the production and storage areas.
  • Accomplishes organization/team goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
  • Any ad hoc tasks assigned by Manager or Team lead
