About The Position

The Operator 2 Castings position is responsible for producing and processing high-quality aluminum castings essential to railcar production. The role involves pouring aluminum into permanent molds, operating and loading production equipment, processing and assembling castings, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• High school education or equivalency test/GED.
• At least 6 months of experience pouring metal.

Responsibilities

• Pour aluminum into permanent molds and operate tilts.
• Grind and straighten castings.
• Load and operate the Heat Treat Machine, Age Oven, Core Machine, and Milling Machine.
• Assemble parts in fabrication.
• Core knock and saw castings.
• Weld assemblies onto castings.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.
