About The Position

Entry level position. This position requires operating equipment, using tools, and/or machinery to prepare and assemble product. The role involves working under the general direction of a more seasoned team member, routing questions to the appropriate person, and demonstrating a willingness to learn and improve. Adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices is expected, along with the ability to learn new skills and follow directions. Operators are expected to produce at takt time while following standard work, and to be able to work individually and in teams. They must follow the Watlow Way Behaviors, Values and Principles, participate in MDI/Improvement activities, and have a basic understanding of data analysis. A demonstration of knowledge with computer systems is also required, and the operator will model Watlow Way behaviors, principles, and values while applying the Watlow Business System.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment / tools / machinery to prepare and assemble product.
  • Follow work instructions.
  • Ability to read print schematics and requests.
  • Assure product meets all quality standards.
  • Test and inspect products per procedure.
  • Keep area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Check and fill out necessary reports, manufacturing orders, scrap, production times, rejects, etc.
  • Work under direct supervision on standardized duties and tasks using established procedures or written instructions.
  • Produce at takt time while following standard work.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Learn new skills and follow directions.
  • Work individually and in teams.
