About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Operator 1 - Hot Work - 1st Shift at our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA. The pay rate for this position is $23.80/hr per hour. Core hours are 7:00am-3:30pm. This position will be responsible for winding coils or hot working transformer assemblies used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, transformer, or work order, using coil-winding machines and welding and brazing equipment. It involves reviewing wiring diagrams and work orders or examining samples to ascertain the type and size of wire specified, and the type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of the coil to be wound, or accurately building transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift operator certification (can be trained on-site)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months soldering/brazing/welding experience OR a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades course
  • Minimum 1 year Previous Machine Operation experience

Responsibilities

  • Wind standard coils for dry type transformers or hook-up/hot work transformers to meet production demands
  • Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.
  • Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standards
  • Adhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctuality
  • Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Keep all work areas clean, organized and presentable
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
