About The Position
We are seeking a Operator 1, Bakery- Box Maker L6 - 1st Shift to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Box Maker Operator, you will set up and change equipment based on product needs while adhering to food safety and quality guidelines. You will operate machines for box forming, bag inserting, and box taping to ensure a constant supply of boxes and bags for the packing lines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent training
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and operating instructions
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in packaging or food production environments
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment setup and adjustments
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up box forming, bag inserting, and taping equipment to meet production demands
- Ensure consistent supply of packaging materials to support uninterrupted production lines
- Monitor and adjust equipment settings to maintain quality and operational efficiency
- Perform quality checks on bags and boxes to ensure proper strength and sealing
- Maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, and workplace safety standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and daily management systems
- Maintain organized work areas and communicate equipment issues to leadership or maintenance teams
